The Texana Foundation has established this privacy policy to explain to you how your information is protected, collected and used. This policy may be updated by the foundation from time to time. The foundation will provide notice of materially significant changes to this privacy policy by posting notice on the the foundation site.

1. Protecting your privacy

(a) We don't sell your information or share it with third parties.

(b) We don't engage in cross-marketing or link-referral programs with other sites.

(c) We may partner with other non-profit or for-profit organizations and, in communicating with you about our projects, activities and progress, may also include information from or about those partners.

(d) We don't employ tracking devices ("cookies", "web beacons," single-pixel gifs) for visitors who do not purchase memberships, make contributions or purchase merchandise.

(e) If you purchase memberships, make contributions or purchase merchandise on our Web site, we do use cookies to keep track of your shopping cart contents (there's no other way).

(f) If you access a members-only area of our Web site, we use cookies to ensure the validity of your access and to track your username and password.

(g) If you sign up for our mailing list, become a member, make a contribution or purchase merchandise, we may send you information about our projects, activities and progress, and we may solicit memberships and contributions.

(h) We don't knowingly collect any information from persons under the age of 13. If we learn of a person under the age of 13 providing information to us on our site, we will attempt to block their access.

(i) We may provide links to third party websites, which may have different privacy practices. We are not responsible for, nor have any control over, the privacy policies of those third party websites, and we encourage all users to read the privacy policies of each and every website visited.

2. Data we collect

(a) If you sign up for our mailing list, become a member, make a contribution or purchase merchandise, we collect your name, mailing address, email address, and similar information for the purpose of telling you about our projects, activities and progress, and to solicit memberships and contributions.

(b) We do not receive or collect your billing information or your credit card information. That information's confidentiality is maintained by our Internet gateway and bank-card merchant account.

(c) We may collect personal information if you contact us directly.

(d) Our web logs collect standard web log entries for each page served, including your IP address, page URL, and timestamp. Web logs help us diagnose problems with our server,administer the the foundation site, and otherwise provide our service to you.

3. Data we store

(a) We store your mailing list, membership, contribution, purchase and shipping information in the normal course of our business. Although we make good faith efforts to store the information in a secure operating environment that is not available to the public, we cannot guarantee complete security.

4. Circumstances in which the foundation may release information

(a) We may disclose information about our users if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process.

(b) We may also disclose information about our users to law enforcement officers or others, in the good faith belief that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to enforce our rights, respond to claims that any content violates the rights of third parties, protect the rights, property, or personal safety of the foundation, its users or the general public.

(c) We may disclose information about our users as provided in our terms of service.

6. International Users

By visiting our web site and providing us with data, you acknowledge and agree that due to the international dimension of the foundation we may use the data collected in the course of our relationship for the purposes identified in this policy or in our other communications with you, including the transmission of information outside your resident jurisdiction. In addition, please understand that such data may be stored on servers located in the United States. By providing us with your data, you consent to the transfer of such data.
